Question About Warrior Armor And Best Set - Guild Wars Forums

Ok Ive looked through all the armors and In my opinion wouldnt ascalon be the best because its only 5 armor less but it reduces the dmg. My question is how does armor work in this game is it like diablo where the higher the armor the more they miss or does it reduce dmg by some percentage? Thnx for any help.
